Use NICORETTE Inhaler for the treatment of tobacco dependence by relieving nicotine craving and withdrawal symptoms in connection with smoking cessation. It may be used to, stop smoking abruptly, to cut down smoking before stopping completely and to assist during times when you are unwilling or unable to smoke. If you have had intense cravings or you feel like your cravings are overwhelming, you can use the NICORETTE Patch in combination with NICORETTE Inhaler 15 mg for better craving relief while keeping your hands busy. Use the inhaler during smoke-free period, for example in smoke free areas or in other situations when you wish to avoid smoking and you have an urge to smoke. NICORETTE Inhaler doubles your chance of quitting smoking and significantly reduces cravings and withdrawal symptom. 1 mg of nicotine is delivered/5 minutes of intensive puffing. The inhaler should not be used for more than 20 consecutive minutes per session. NICORETTE Inhaler 15 mg cartridge can be used for twice as long as each NICORETTE Inhaler 10 mg cartridge.

Try different schedules to help control cravings and use the inhaler at times when you most crave a cigarette. Use the inhaler during smoke-free period, for example in smoke free areas or in other situations when you wish to avoid smoking and you have an urge to smoke. NICORETTE® Inhaler doubles your chance of quitting smoking and significantly reduces cravings and withdrawal symptoms. If the amounts of NICORETTE® Inhaler you are taking do not help you stop smoking, talk with your health care practitioner about using more than one type of NRT at the same time. If you are using NICORETTE® Inhaler while trying to quit smoking but slip up and have a cigarette, you should not stop using the NICORETTE® Inhaler. You should keep using the NRT and keep trying to quit. To increase your chances of quitting, use with a stop smoking support program as identified in the enclosed User Guide

Reduce to Quit TM Smoking Reduction Although quitting smoking is preferable, NICORETTE Inhaler can also be used as part of a Reduce to Quit TM program in which it is used to reduce the number of cigarettes smoked prior to quitting in smokers who are not able or ready to quit abruptly. If you are not ready to abruptly quit, reducing to quit with NICORETTE Inhaler is a positive first step to quitting by helping you cut back the number of cigarettes you smoke and increase the time between cigarettes smoked by reducing craving and withdrawal symptoms. NICORETTE Inhaler more than doubles successful reductions in smokers currently unable or not ready to stop smoking abruptly and may be used as part of a program to reduce smoking. By reducing cigarettes using NICORETTE Inhaler, Reduce to Quit TM triples the cessation rate at 4 months vs. placebo.

Combination Treatment with NICORETTE Patch and NICORETTE Inhaler If you have had intense cravings or you feel like your cravings are overwhelming, you can use the patch in combination with NICORETTE Inhaler 15 mg for better craving relief while keeping your hands busy. You can wear NICORETTE Patch and use NICORETTE Inhaler 15 mg together at the same time to help conquer those intense or overwhelming cravings and increase your chances of quitting vs. inhaler alone. Using NICORETTE Inhaler Nicotine Replacement Therapy may help you stop smoking by alleviating the discomfort of cravings and withdrawal. By stopping to smoke you may reduce the risk of developing lung cancer, heart disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, acute respiratory illnesses, periodontal disease and adverse reproductive effects. It may also improve the health of your skin.
