本品にはルテイン・ゼアキサンチンおよびアスタキサンチンが含まれます。ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには、目の黄斑部の色素量を増やす働きがあり、ブルーライト光の刺激からの保護や、コントラスト感度（はっきり見る力）の改善によって、ぼやけを解消することが報告されています。アスタキサンチンには、目のピント調節機能を維持し、パソコンやスマートフォンの使用による一時的な目の疲労感を軽減することが報告されています。
