本品にはルテインが含まれます。ルテインにはブルーライトなどの光刺激から眼を守るとされる網膜の黄斑色素量を補い、眼のコントラスト感度（かすみやぼやけを解消して、物をくっきりと視認する感度）の低下を軽減することが報告されています。これらの事から日常でスマートフォンやパソコンの画面を見る方に適しています。 本品にはイチョウ葉由来フラボノイド配糖体及びイチョウ葉由来テルペンラクトンが含まれます。イチョウ葉由来フラボノイド配糖体及びイチョウ葉由来テルペンラクトンには加齢によって低下する脳の血流を改善し、認知機能の一部である記憶力（日常生活で見聞きした情報を覚え、思い出す力）の精度や判断の正確さを向上させることが報告されています。これらの事から物事を忘れやすいと感じている中高年の方に適しています。
