本品にはターミナリアベリリカ由来没食子酸が含まれます。ターミナリアベリリカ由来没食子酸には、食事に含まれる糖や脂肪の吸収を抑えて、食後の血糖値や中性脂肪の上昇を抑える機能、肥満気味な方の内臓脂肪と体重を減らして高めのBMIを低下させるのを助ける機能が報告されています。
