本品にはルテインおよびゼアキサンチンが含まれます。ルテインおよびゼアキサンチンは、年齢とともに低下する認知機能の一部である判断力(変化する状況に応じて適切に対処したり、推論したりする能力)、注意力（一つのことに集中したり、複数の物事に注意を向けられる能力）を維持すること、および目の黄斑部の色素密度を上昇させ、ブルーライトなどの光の刺激から目を保護し、コントラスト感度(ぼやけの緩和によってはっきりと物を識別する力)を改善することが報告されています。
