本品にはアスタキサンチン、ルテイン、ゼアキサンチンが含まれます。抗酸化作用を持つアスタキサンチンは、紫外線刺激から肌を保護するのを助ける機能性、紫外線を浴びた肌を乾燥から守り、肌のうるおいを守る機能性が報告されています。ルテイン、ゼアキサンチンは、眼の黄斑色素量を増加、維持する働きがあり、コントラスト感度（色の濃淡を識別し、ぼやけ、かすみを緩和する視機能）、グレア回復（まぶしさから回復する視機能）のサポート、ブルーライトなどの光ストレス、一時的な精神ストレス、眼の疲労感の軽減に役立ち、睡眠の質を高める機能があることが報告されています。
