本品にはルテイン・ゼアキサンチン、アスタキサンチンが含まれます。ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには目の黄斑部の色素量を増やし、ブルーライト光などの光ストレスから保護し、ぼやけの緩和によりはっきり見る力（コントラスト感度）を改善する機能があることが報告されています。アスタキサンチンは目のピント調節機能を助け、パソコンやスマートフォンなどの使用による一時的な目の疲労感を軽減し、目の使用による肩や腰の負担を軽減する機能があることが報告されています。
