本品には、カルシウム ビス－3－ヒドロキシ－3－メチルブチレートモノハイドレート（HMBカルシウム）とブラックジンジャー由来ポリメトキシフラボンが含まれます。カルシウム ビス－3－ヒドロキシ－3－メチルブチレートモノハイドレート（HMBカルシウム）は、筋肉の維持に働きかけ、運動との併用で、自立した日常生活を送る上で必要な筋力（立つ・歩くなどの日常の動作に必要な筋力）の維持・低下抑制に役立つ機能が報告されています。ブラックジンジャー由来ポリメトキシフラボンは、足の曲げ伸ばし等の筋肉に軽い負荷がかかる運動との併用で、年齢とともに低下する脚の筋力に作用することにより、中高年の方の歩行能力の向上に役立つことが報告されています。また、日常活動時のエネルギー代謝において脂肪を消費しやすくする作用により、BMIが高め（BMI23以上30未満）の方の腹部の脂肪（内臓脂肪と皮下脂肪）を減らす機能があることが報告されています。本品は、筋力や歩行能力、腹部の脂肪が気になる方に適した食品です。
