本品にはＧＡＢＡとグロビン由来バリン-バリン-チロシン-プロリンとサラシア由来サラシノールが含まれています。ＧＡＢＡには、血圧が高めの方の血圧を下げる機能があることが報告されています。グロビン由来バリン-バリン-チロシン-プロリンには、食事の脂肪の吸収を抑えることにより、食後の血中中性脂肪の上昇を抑える機能があることが報告されています。サラシア由来サラシノールには、糖の吸収を抑え、食後血糖値の上昇をゆるやかにする機能があることが報告されています。
