本品にはルテイン・ゼアキサンチンおよびアスタキサンチンが含まれます。ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには、目の黄斑部の色素量を増やす働きがあり、ブルーライト光の刺激からの保護や、コントラスト感度(ぼやけの軽減によりくっきり見る力)を改善する機能があることが報告されています。また、ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには、健常な高齢者の加齢によって低下する認知機能の一部である判断力（変化する状況に応じて適切に対処したり、推論したりする能力）、注意力（一つのことに集中したり、複数の物事に注意を向けられる能力）を維持する機能があることが報告されています。アスタキサンチンには、目のピント調節機能を維持し、パソコンやスマートフォンの使用による一時的な目の疲労感を軽減する機能や目の使用による肩や腰の負担を和らげる機能、肌の水分保持に役立ち肌のうるおいを守るのを助ける機能があることが報告されています。
