本品にはルテイン・ゼアキサンチンが含まれます。 ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには眼を保護するとされる網膜の黄斑部の色素量を増やす働きがあり、ブルーライト光などの光から眼を保護し、コントラスト感度(ぼやけの軽減によりくっきりみる力)を改善する機能があることが報告されています。さらに、健常な高齢者の加齢によって低下する認知機能の一部である判断力（変化する状況に応じて適切に対処したり、推論したりする能力）、注意力（一つのことに集中したり、複数の物事に注意を向けられる能力）を維持する機能があることが報告されています。
