本品にはルテイン・ゼアキサンチン、およびイチョウ葉由来フラボノイド配糖体、イチョウ葉由来テルペンラクトンが含まれます。ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには、目の黄斑部の色素量を増やす働きがあり、紫外線・ブルーライトなどの光ストレスから目を保護し、コントラスト感度（ぼやけ・かすみの軽減によりくっきり見る力）を改善する機能があることが報告されています。また、健常な高齢者の加齢によって低下する認知機能の一部である判断力（変化する状況に応じて適切に対処したり、推論したりする能力）、注意力（一つのことに集中したり、複数の物事に注意を向けられる能力）を維持する機能があることが報告されています。 イチョウ葉由来フラボノイド配糖体、イチョウ葉由来テルペンラクトンは、健常な中高齢者の加齢によって低下する認知機能の一部である記憶力（日常生活で見聞きした情報を覚え、思い出す力）や判断力（判断の正確さ）を維持する機能が報告されています。
