本品にはルテイン、イチョウ葉由来フラボノイド配糖体及びイチョウ葉由来テルペンラクトンが含まれます。ルテインは、網膜の黄斑色素量を補うことにより、ブルーライトなど光の刺激から眼を保護する機能、コントラスト感度（ぼやけやかすみを緩和してくっきり見る力）を改善する機能、眩しさから回復する眼の調整力（グレア回復）をサポートする機能が報告されています。イチョウ葉由来フラボノイド配糖体及びイチョウ葉由来テルペンラクトンは、健康な中高年者の認知機能の一部である記憶力（言葉や図形などを覚え、思い出す能力）を維持することが報告されています。
