本品には、サケ鼻軟骨由来プロテオグリカンとN-アセチルグルコサミンが含まれます。サケ鼻軟骨由来プロテオグリカンには、ひざ関節の不快感を持つ方の軟骨成分の分解を抑え、関節軟骨の保護に役立ち、また、ひざ関節の可動性、日常生活におけるひざの動き（階段の上り下り、歩く、立ち上がる、落ちたものを拾う、座っている）の改善に役立ち、起床時のひざの違和感を軽減することが報告されています。また、N-アセチルグルコサミンには、歩行や階段の上り下りにおけるひざ関節の悩みを改善することが報告されています。
