本品にはアスタキサンチンが含まれます。アスタキサンチンは、目のピント調節機能を維持し、パソコンやスマートフォンの使用による一時的な目の疲労感を軽減し、目の使用による肩や腰の負担を和らげる機能が報告されています。抗酸化作用をもつアスタキサンチンは紫外線刺激から肌を保護するのを助ける機能、肌の水分保持に役立ち、肌のうるおいを守るのを助ける（肌の保湿力を維持する）機能があること、つまり肌のバリア機能（保湿力）を維持することが報告されています。
