本品にはアスタキサンチン、ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンが含まれます。 アスタキサンチンには眼のピント調節機能を維持し、パソコンやスマートフォンの使用による一時的な眼の疲労感を軽減する機能や、眼の使用による肩や腰の負担を和らげる機能、パソコンやスマートフォンなどのモニター作業における40代以降の方の視力の維持をサポートする機能が報告されています。なお、近視や遠視などの屈折異常を改善するものではありません。ルテイン・ゼアキサンチンには眼の黄斑部の色素量を増やし、紫外線やブルーライト光などの光ストレス刺激から眼を保護する機能が報告されています。また、コントラスト感度（ぼやけ・かすみの軽減によりくっきり見る力、色の濃淡を判別する力）を改善する機能があることが報告されています。
