Déconseillé aux enfants, aux adolescents, aux femmes enceintes et allaitantes, aux personnes sensibles aux statines ainsi qu'aux personnes ayant des problèmes hépatiques, rénaux ou musculaires, aux personnes de plus de 70 ans, aux personnes prenant des médicaments qui peuvent donner lieu à des interactions tels que les immunodépresseurs, aux antibiotiques macrolides ou aux fibrates hypolipémiants. Demander l'avis de votre médecin et/ou pharmacien. L'effet bénéfique est obtenu par la consommation journalière de 10 mg de monacoline K provenant de préparations de levure de riz rouge fermentée.
