In Kalifornien gemeldete Kosmetika
Das California Safe Cosmetics Program (CSCP) im California Department of Public Health veröffentlicht die Meldungen von Unternehmen. Nach kalifornischem Recht müssen betroffene Unternehmen in Kalifornien verkaufte Kosmetika melden, die Inhaltsstoffe enthalten, welche bekanntermaßen oder vermutlich Krebs verursachen oder die Fortpflanzung beeinträchtigen, insbesondere Stoffe der Proposition-65-Liste.
Eine Meldung ist kein Produkttest und enthält keine Aussage über die Stoffmenge. Sie reicht nicht aus, um auf ein Risiko bei der Verwendung zu schließen. Ein Produkt, dessen Vermarktung eingestellt wurde, kann noch im Handel sein. Ein aus einer Rezeptur entfernter Stoff bleibt in der Historie sichtbar. Die Vorschriften der Europäischen Union unterscheiden sich davon. Die Einzelseite des Inhaltsstoffs zeigt die dort geltenden Vorschriften.
