Il est interdit d'en mettre dans un cosmétique vendu dans l'Union européenne, quelle que soit la dose. S'il figure sur la liste d'ingrédients d'un produit récent, c'est à vérifier : la fiche peut être ancienne ou erronée, ou le produit destiné à un autre marché.

Ce nom est seulement cité en exemple dans une entrée de l'annexe III, qui vise une famille de substances : les conditions exactes dépendent de la forme utilisée.
