Cautions and Warnings : Shan Zha (Fructus Crataegi) should be used with caution in patients with Spleen and Stomach deficiencies.
Because Shan Zha (Fructus Crataegi) may stimulate the production and secretion of gastric acid, it should be used with caution in patients who have gastritis or peptic ulcers.
Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae must be used with caution in patients with fluid deficiencies, excess heat in the interior and/or cough caused by qi or yin deficiencies.
Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae must be used with extreme caution in hematemesis.
Use of Ge gen (Radix Puerariae Lobatae) may be associated with nausea and vomiting because of its cool nature. Patients with cold in the Stomach, or yang deficiency, should use this herb with caution.
Ge gen (Radix Puerariae Lobatae) should be used with caution during the summer, when excess perspiration accompanies wind heat invasion.
Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are taking thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
Consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use if you have a liver disorder or develop liver-related symptoms (e.g. abdominal pain, jaundice, dark urine).
