Cautions and Warnings : Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have a yin deficiency, sunken spleen qi, or cold from deficiency with spermatorrhea.
Shan Zha (Fructus Crataegi) should be used with caution in patients with Spleen and Stomach deficiencies.
Because Shan Zha (Fructus Crataegi) may stimulate the production and secretion of gastric acid, it should be used with caution in patients who have gastritis or peptic ulcers.
Prolonged intake of Shan Zha (Fructus Crataegi) is not recommended as it will eventually interrupt the normal flow of Spleen and Stomach qi.
Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae must be used with caution in patients with fluid deficiencies, excess heat in the interior and/or cough caused by qi or yin deficiencies.
Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae must be used with extreme caution in hematemesis.
Long-term use of Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae can injure the primal qi.
If you are taking anti-depressants, especially monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) consult with a health care practitioner prior to use.
If you suffer from heartburn or acid reflux, consult with a health care practitioner prior to use.
If symptoms persist or worsen, or if new symptoms develop, discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner.
