Cosmetici dichiarati in California
Il California Safe Cosmetics Program (CSCP), all’interno del California Department of Public Health, pubblica le dichiarazioni delle imprese. La legge californiana impone alle imprese interessate di dichiarare i cosmetici venduti in California contenenti ingredienti noti o sospettati di provocare il cancro o effetti sulla riproduzione, in particolare quelli dell’elenco Proposition 65.
Una dichiarazione non è un test del prodotto e non fornisce informazioni sulla quantità della sostanza. Non basta per concludere che esista un rischio durante l’uso. Un prodotto la cui commercializzazione è cessata può ancora trovarsi nei negozi. Una sostanza rimossa da una formula resta visibile nella cronologia. Le norme dell’Unione europea sono diverse: la scheda dell’ingrediente indica quelle applicabili.
