Wofür der Stoff laut Herstellern verwendet wird
Am häufigsten genannte Ziele bei Nahrungsergänzungsmitteln mit diesem Inhaltsstoff (vitamine B12): immunité (1559 Produkte), sport (1263 Produkte), système nerveux (1133 Produkte), cheveux et ongles (754 Produkte), concentration (564 Produkte).
Dies sind die der Verwaltung gegenüber angegebenen Herstellerziele, keine nachgewiesenen Wirkungen. Auf der Verpackung dürfen nur von der Union zugelassene gesundheitsbezogene Angaben stehen.

Die Vorschrift in Frankreich
Die im Erlass vom 9. Mai 2006 festgelegte Höchstdosis je Nahrungsergänzungsmittel wurde 2011 vom Conseil d’État aufgehoben: Für diesen Nährstoff gilt in Frankreich derzeit kein durch Erlass bezifferter Höchstwert. Der Hersteller bleibt für die Sicherheit seines Produkts verantwortlich.

Höchstdosis in Frankreich
Der Erlass vom 9. Mai 2006 legte eine tägliche Höchstdosis von 3 µg je Produkt fest. Der Conseil d’État hob diese Dosis am 27. April 2011 auf (Entscheidung Nr. 295235): Sie gilt nicht mehr.
